During our recent trip to India, we had the very special opportunity to visit the Tibetan Children’s Village’s head office, located in Dharamsala. While there, upon request from Dalai Lama, Richie gave a talk at TCV.
When we arrived at the auditorium where Richie was to speak, we walked in, and there were 2,000 students waiting for us. What a sight it was! Of course, there were teachers and others also visiting, but we weren’t expecting such a large enthusiastic and receptive audience.
Richie gave a fantastic talk, and was able to answer several questions from the group. The children asked such deep, complex questions, and we were amazed at how thoughtful the students were in asking them. In fact, we still have a stack of questions to answer because we ran out of time!
We look forward to reconnecting with the students – possibly through a global blog and video chat – to continue discussing their questions. It was a great experience to be around such bright, young minds and smiling faces – truly an immeasurable moment for me.
